It’s time to turn the page. Time for the next life chapter. Dust off past woes, get back on the horse, and ride on! Welcome to what I like to call my “Act Two”.
You were all riding along with me on this divine journey, sharing joys and new experiences, and I loved having you there. For a few years, we traveled the nation, met new people, enriched the lives of our furry friends, and much more. We were on the mountain living the good life!
And then, as the obstacles occurred more and more, I simply lost my drive. My motivation drained by circumstances some days. It was often an effort to do anything associated with the book world that I cherished. I turned to quotes from my favorite spiritual adviser, Pastor Joel Osteen, “God didn’t bring you this far, to leave you.” Pastor Joel says, “Don’t focus on what you’re going through; focus on where you’re going to.” Replaying dreams coming to fruition in my mind gave me the keep-going strength that I needed.
Oh, there definitely were times to rejoice in along the way. I’ve come to look at those joyous moments when you’re riding through the valley of life as godly signs that you are on the right path. That you must keep going no matter what. God has a plan for your life, and He does promise something better in your future. Pastor Joel reminds us that, “You always face your greatest opposition when you’re closest to your victory. The enemy would not be fighting you so hard, unless he knew there was something amazing in your future.”
I was watching an episode of Super Soul Sessions on the OWN network and motivational speaker and author Tim Storey said some things that stuck with me. “While you’re feeling the sting of your setback, God is preparing your comeback.” Mr. Storey cautions us that, “A comeback is not a go-back.” Don’t try to go back and fix anything. He said, “Do not dwell on the past. Behold, God is doing a new thing. There are new things happening for you. Your life is about to be incredible!”
With that said, here it is! The relaunch of my website! A new design with photos of a wiser, more confident me with a new, much shorter haircut! There’s no way I was going to permit myself to emerge from all of this the same. Everything needed to be better than before. I am not going back to fix anything either; I am looking forward with new ideas and plans. I am eager to write consistently…the one thing that undeniably fulfills my soul.
So, let’s ride on! It’s “Act Two” time! I’ll reflect back on this past year in future posts, not to go back and fix anything, but to share how I see now that everything does happen for a reason. Let my life journey inspire you once again. Together, we can ride up the next mountain to a blissful height never before believed achievable!
